The Little Monster

The Little Monster is a 6-page 590-word poem written by Hudson Bridge. He told me he woke up one morning with the words running through his head and he wrote the poem in an hour. It is in the style of a Brothers Grimm fairy tale and meant for children. After reading the poem I decided to add illustrations, or at least attempt to. The illustrations seen on the pages are the ones that go with the poem. This page is in fact the fourth stanza of the poem and the first drawing of the monster. Unfortunately I could not fit the whole drawing. The poem is about a monster that decides to take a holiday and picnic in the park, but first he had to go into town to collect the eyes of children and that is where he meets the hero of the poem.

For when she went to bed that night,

she could not fall asleep.

She went into the kitchen

to get herself a drink.

She opened up the cupboard,

to find herself a mug.

And found the Creature standing there,

all monstery and smug.
